Today was the last day of digital currents.!
Hard for me to beleive!
The presentaions were and truned out great.!
This week over all was working on my aplication.
It was exiting because I really liked mine.!
This experience was a great one.!
I'm never going to forget it.!
I has fun and enjoyed!!!
Don't regret coming.
I met new people, learned new things, (math, art and programing).!
It was somewhat hard but worth time learning.!!!
Well I have to go...
and I want to thak everyone that made Digital Currents 2009 happen!!!!!

Specification for Final Project

Manifesto:
I really liked the Slopes Simulation lab. It was about a car being launched by a slope by the given angle. The application was called Skippy Launch! It also had two input boxes; one was the height of ramp, and the other the power if the object being launched which in this case was the car. There was also a “Launch” button. After putting the height of the ramp and the power you would then press Launch and you would see the car Skippy be launched. As higher the number was for the height of the ramp; the car was launched higher. The more power you would put the faster the Skippy the car would go! That’s what we did but what we didn’t do was putting in the application was the width of the ramp and adding the Hypotenuse and the angle of the triangle to appear when you press Launch. In my opinion this lab really does show the math part behind it. It shows very well ideal understanding of using rise over run or also using Pythagorean Theorem. I learned this and it’s helped me have a more visual understanding of the Pythagorean Theorem used in real life.
I want to do something similar to this for my final project. I want to use the same application but using my own ideas. Why this particular lab? Well I followed along and didn’t get behind. I didn’t have any compiler errors YEAH. Now knowing that I did well in that lab I think I could do something related to what I learned in the Slopes Lab but I have some ideas of my own that I would want to apply to my own project. I’m going to change the theme and art the math part is going to stay somewhat the same. It’s going to be a rocket being launched up into space instead of a car. To me that sounded more reasonable.
Art:
The art part was one of my favorites. I really liked it and enjoyed it. Its fun experimenting with flash and finding new this you never imagine learning. It’s incredible how many things you can learn to make from many other things. You can make cool clips with sounds, logos, and morph images into other different things. You can be really imaginary and be open minded about a lot of stuff. I learned so many things that I won’t forget trust me.
I have many art ideas in mind that I would love to have in my application. One thing I’m going to do for sure is I’m to change the theme. I want to add colorful stuff, moving stuff in the background and so on to make it look exiting not a boring. I would also want to add some sound in the background and some other action sound as well. I want my project to look eye catching; I also want things to stand out for people to want to see it. I think I’m going to put more time in the art part I want it to look original something I know I can accomplish! I like to make things look neat not just a blob of mess. I’m going to take time in my art part to try to make it as precise as I can.

Applied Math:
Like I said before I really did understand the slopes concept in the slopes lab. I think it does show math included. You can plug in any height, and power (speed). When you plug in any number to the height of the ramp and the speed and hit launch and see how far, high, and fast your object goes. In that case it was Skippy the car. I think it’s neat how you can change the height and power to whatever numbers you want and see how your car launches. It’s basically letting you control it and try it out yourself. I thought that was neat I don’t like to follow directions that much I just like trying thins out myself and experiment with them.
The matt his going to be the same just slightly a little bit more different. I’m not going to have a ramp I did like it in the Skippy launch application, but I just don’t feel it would fit in my lab application. I’m just not going to included it. The math part was just understanding the concept of Pythagorean Theorem and I do understand it it’s not a big issue for me.
Programming:
I was not the biggest fan of programming. It was probably because it’s hard for me to follow directions when they only explained it once. That’s why I always asked for help. I was really slow at putting functions in codes and so on. The slow part didn’t help at all because I just kept falling behind and I felt like as if I was the only one needed help. All of us students needed help at first. But as time went by I was getting better and better. I was well understanding programming and what was it all used for. Programming was like the main point of everything; without it the applications wouldn’t be able to work at all. Now I know how things work in real life like on the internet it’s not that easy. It’s all about codes, functions and brackets!!! I didn’t like bracket at one point’ because I always had problems with missing or unneeded brackets!
But it’s all good I now get the understanding of programming and the inside scoop behind it and I honor the people that do it because it’s not a easy thing to do right away for people that have no idea what it was at one point. And trust me I will never forget programming a bracket ever in my life! So the programming part is going to be easy I’m just going to follow the lab application very carefully and hopefully I won’t have any problems.
